Search & discovery
How to find and organize lists — explore, tags, qualifier search, collections and saved queries.
Explore
The Explore page (/explore) is a showcase, not a search box: what's
interesting right now. It's split into tabs:
- Explore — a trending feed of lists plus a few curated catalogs;
- Popular tags — a cloud of tags to dive into a topic;
- Trending — lists or people over a period (Today / Week / Month / All time);
- Catalogs — editorial collections.
Tags
Every public list carries up to eight tags — search and discovery run on them.
The full tag index lives at /tags (curated ones first), and a tag's page
/tags/{tag} gathers every list that uses it. "Topic" and "tag" are the same
thing here: topic: in search is equivalent to tag:.
Search
The search box (/search) understands qualifiers right in the query text:
| Qualifier | What it filters |
|---|---|
by:handle (owner:, author:) | by the list's author |
tag:redis (topic:) | by tag; several tags — all at once |
is:verified | verified lists only |
type:ordered / type:unordered | by list type |
stars:>100 | at least the given number of stars |
Everything else is free text. As you type, the box suggests tags, people and types. On the left are the Lists / People / Issues scopes and a Filters panel (type, tags, author, minimum stars) that append into the same query.
Search runs by meaning and by words at once (hybrid): it handles rephrasings, tolerates typos, and works in Russian and English. Found nothing? The "Draft a list" button builds one with a council of masters.
Saved queries
On the My lists page you can save a filter over your own lists — a set of tags plus a run status (Started / Done) — with the "+ Query" button (say, "Books I started"). Saved queries show up as chips; you can keep up to twelve.
Collections and star folders
- Catalogs (collections) — public editorial roundups of lists and catalogs; they appear on the Explore showcase.
- Star folders — your private folders for organizing starred lists (the right half of the star button → "Add to folder"). Visible only to you.
